Aladin Code cares about your privacy. This page explains which personal data we receive through this website, what we use them for and which rights you have in that respect.

Who processes your data?

The controller for the processing of your personal data is Michel Grauwen, owner of Aladin Code.

Which data do we collect?

Without your consent this website collects nothing in the background. We only receive what you fill in yourself on the contact form:

  • your first name and surname;
  • your email address;
  • the subject of your message;
  • the content of your message.

If you use the selection guide or request a quote for a specific machine, your answers (volume, label size, environment) are included in that message. That too only happens at the moment you click send yourself.

What do we use them for?

Purely to be able to answer you and help you further. In concrete terms:

  • answering your question and giving advice;
  • drawing up a quote;
  • following up an order, delivery or repair;
  • meeting our legal obligations, such as the duty to keep accounts after a purchase.

The legal basis for this is your consent when you send the form, and the performance of the contract once you become a customer.

We do not sell your data

Your data are not sold, rented out or passed on to third parties for commercial purposes. You will receive no unsolicited advertising from us.

Data are only shared when that is necessary in order to help you — for instance with the manufacturer when a machine has to be repaired under warranty — or when the law obliges us to.

How long do we keep them?

We do not keep your data longer than needed for the purpose you provided them for:

Question without a follow-up
If you asked a question but did not become a customer, we keep your message for two years after the last contact. After that it is deleted.
Customer data
If you become a customer, we keep your data for as long as the working relationship lasts. That is needed in order to service your machine and supply the right ink and labels: we have to know which machine you have and what has happened before.
Invoices and accounts
Data on invoices we keep for seven years. That period is imposed by Belgian accounting law; we cannot depart from it, not even on request.

If you want to disappear from our records sooner, let us know. Anything that does not have to be kept by law, we delete.

Where are your data held?

Messages from the contact form end up in the mailbox of info@aladincode.com.

In concrete terms they end up in the following places:

Hostinger
Our web hosting and the email address info@aladincode.com run at Hostinger. Your message therefore passes through their servers within the European Union.
Microsoft Outlook and Google Gmail
We read and answer our email through Outlook and Gmail. Your message is therefore also in those mailboxes. Both parties act as processors and do not use your data for their own purposes.

We do not use a separate customer management system: your data go no further than our mailbox and, if you become a customer, our accounts.

Cookies and statistics

Without your consent this website places no cookies that track you. Which storage we use exactly you can read in our cookie policy.

We use Google Analytics to see which pages are visited. That only happens after you have given consent through the cookie notice, and your IP address is shortened in the process so that you cannot be identified individually. If you refuse, or close the notice without choosing, Google Analytics is not loaded and no statistics about your visit are collected. You can review your choice at any time through the cookie policy.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to:

  • request access to the data we hold about you;
  • have incorrect data rectified;
  • have your data erased, unless we are legally required to keep them;
  • have the processing restricted or to object to it;
  • receive your data in a readable format (portability);
  • withdraw consent you have given, without stating a reason.

One email to info@aladincode.com is enough. We respond within the legal period of one month. To be sure we are speaking to the right person, we may ask you to confirm your identity.

Lodging a complaint

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, let us know first — then we will look for a solution together. You also always have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels.

Changes

If anything changes in the way we work or in the services we use, we update this page. The date at the top shows when that last happened.
