Best for continuous production
Afinia Label
Afinia Label L901
For production that runs all day long.
The L901 is the workhorse of the range: built for long roll-to-roll runs and for inline integration with finishers, applicators and dispensers. Five 250 ml cartridges keep the cost per label exceptionally low, and the printhead can be serviced during production — so the line does not come to a standstill.

What sets this model apart
Why businesses choose the L901.
Built for large volumes
Afinia states 10,000 to well over 100,000 labels a month. Where lighter machines become the bottleneck, the L901 keeps up the pace.
Exceptionally low ink cost
Five 250 ml cartridges (CMYKK) push the cost per label far down. At high volumes that is the difference that counts over a year.
Printhead serviced while running
The printhead can be cleaned and serviced “on the fly”. A long run does not have to be interrupted for it.
Ready for inline integration
Connects directly to label finishers, applicators and dispensers. Labelling becomes a step in the line instead of a separate operation.
Rolls up to 250 mm in diameter
Larger rolls mean fewer changeovers — again time saved in production that runs on.
WaterShield ink available
The L901 Plus prints with moisture-resistant WaterShield ink: suitable for chilled drinks, fresh food and damp environments.

Ink, labels & accessories
A printer is only the beginning.
The real work is in what goes through it every week afterwards. Aladin Code supplies the ink, the labels and the accessories that belong with this machine — so that you have one point of contact instead of three.
Ink for the L901
The L901 works with five 250 ml cartridges of its own. These are model-specific: cartridges from another machine do not fit. We supply replacements, so that a long run never stops halfway.
- Five 250 ml cartridges in a CMYKK arrangement
- Very low ink cost per label at high volumes
- WaterShield ink available on the L901 Plus
- Spare cartridges ordered into stock
Labels for the L901
Which label you need depends on your product and not on your printer. One condition always applies: the material has to have an inkjet coating. What sits underneath, we decide together.
- All standard sizes and labels cut to measure
- Widths up to 216 mm, rolls up to 250 mm in diameter
- Inkjet-coated paper and synthetic materials
- Material matched to refrigeration, condensation or dry storage
Accessories
Unwinders, rewinders and maintenance parts that complete the production around this machine. We supply and maintain those too.
- XL unwinder and rewinder for long roll-to-roll runs
- Unwinders and rewinders from Labelmate
- Label finishers, applicators and dispensers for inline integration
In practice
What this machine looks like in a business.
Three situations from industries where we install this printer most often — each starting with the problem it began with.
Food industry
De Roover Verse Maaltijden, a producer of freshly prepared meals
The situation
Around 4,000 trays come off the line every day, each with its own ingredients list and use-by date. The previous machine could not keep up and became the brake on the packing line.
Why this machine
The L901 prints the day’s production in a single pass and sits inline with the applicator. With WaterShield ink the labels stay legible in refrigeration.
Drinks & brewing
Brouwerij Sint-Aldegonde, a regional brewer with a growing range
The situation
Twelve beers, changing seasonal batches and new labels every time. Ordering from a printing house meant minimum orders of thousands of units per variety.
Why this machine
Now the brewery prints what it needs per batch. The low ink cost per label makes that viable, even for short runs of a seasonal beer.
Logistics
Transdek Logistics, a distribution centre in the province of Antwerp
The situation
Thousands of shipping and identification labels a day, with variable barcodes. At peak times labelling fell behind the packing.
Why this machine
The L901 keeps running roll-to-roll and connects to the WMS. The large rolls mean fewer changeovers during a peak day.
The examples above are fictional. They are based on situations we come across in practice, but the company names are invented.
Frequently asked questions
What customers ask us about this model.
Is your question not here? Feel free to email —info@aladincode.com
What volume is the Afinia Label L901 intended for?
Afinia states 10,000 to well over 100,000 labels a month. If you are structurally below that, the L801 is usually the more logical choice; if you are above it, or your line runs continuously, this is the machine.
Can the L901 print GHS labels?
No. The L901 works with dye ink, including in the WaterShield version, and so does not meet the BS5609 standard. For GHS labelling of hazardous substances you end up with the NeuraLabel Callisto.
What is the difference between the L901 and the L901 Plus?
The Plus prints with WaterShield ink, which copes far better with prolonged moisture. That is the version for chilled drinks, fresh food and damp production areas.
Can the machine be built into our existing production line?
Yes, that is what the L901 is built for. It connects to label finishers, applicators and dispensers, so that labelling becomes a step in the line. We look at how your line is laid out together beforehand.
What is the delivery time?
That depends on whether the machine is in stock or has to be ordered. Allow about a week; we agree the exact term when you order.
How much maintenance does this machine need?
The printhead can be serviced during production, which prevents a lot of downtime. Beyond that we step in when there are problems, and we recommend a yearly service to replace anything showing wear as a precaution.
What happens if it breaks down?
We are usually on site within two working days, and sooner when your production is at a standstill. We charge for installation separately because the cost depends on the distance; explanation on delivery is simply part of it.

What does the Afinia Label L901 cost in your situation?
That depends on your volume, your labels and the accessories you need. Tell us those three and you will get a concrete proposal — not a guide price out of a catalogue.
