What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your computer or phone. Some cookies are needed to make a site work; others serve to measure how a site is used or to track you across different websites.
What does this website use?
Without your consent this website places no cookie that tracks or measures you. No profile of you is built up and data is never shared with advertising networks.
There is one exception, and it asks for your consent first: we use Google Analytics to see which pages are visited. How exactly that works you can read further down this page.
We also use temporary storage in your own browser, purely for functional purposes:
- Your answers from the selection guide
- If you work through the selection guide and then click "Request a quote", your answers are carried over to the contact form so that you do not have to type them again. These data stay in your browser and disappear as soon as you close the tab.
- Your choice in the cookie notice
- We remember your answer to the cookie notice. Otherwise that notice would appear again on every visit. This choice stays stored in your browser until you change it yourself.
No consent is required for this functional storage: it only keeps what you filled in or chose yourself, and does not track you.
Visitor statistics
We use Google Analytics to see which pages are visited and where visitors drop off. That helps us improve the site. In concrete terms the following applies:
- Analytical cookies are off by default. They are only placed after you have clicked "Accept all" in the cookie notice.
- If you refuse, or close the notice without choosing, Google Analytics is not loaded and we collect nothing about your visit.
- Your IP address is shortened before it is processed, so that you cannot be identified individually.
- Your choice is remembered, so that the notice does not come back on every visit. You can always change it — see below.
The processor is Google Ireland Limited. What Google does with these data is set out in Google’s privacy policy.
Types of cookies
Necessary and functional cookies
Needed to make the site work and to remember what you filled in or chose yourself. Without these the website does not work properly. No consent is required for them.
Analytical cookies
These measure how many visitors view which pages. They are only placed after your explicit consent, and never before.
Marketing and advertising cookies
We do not use those, and we have no intention of doing so.
Changing your choice
You can review your choice at any time using the button at the bottom of this page: the cookie notice then appears again. You can also always delete or block cookies through your browser settings. How that works differs per browser and is described in the help pages of Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge.
