Best all-rounder
Afinia Label
Afinia Label L801
High quality without the top-end price.
The L801 sits exactly between the entry-level model and the heavy workhorse: the same Memjet speed and image quality as the industrial range, but sized for a medium-sized production. The ink cost per label is exceptionally low, which often makes this the most economical of the four in the long run.

What sets this model apart
Why businesses choose the L801.
Industrial speed, mid-range price
The same print technology as the L901, but sized for 5,000 to 70,000 labels a month. For most businesses that is more than enough — without the investment the top model calls for.
Exceptionally low ink cost
Afinia calls the ink cost per label market-leading. At thousands of labels a week, that is the figure that decides your annual accounts, not the purchase price.
Sharp image quality
Full colour areas, fine text and sharp barcodes. For product labels sitting on the shelf next to other brands, that is the difference.
Continuous roll-to-roll production
With the matching L801 rewinder, a long run keeps going unattended: the label comes out rewound on the other side.
WaterShield ink available
The L801 Plus prints with moisture-resistant WaterShield ink, for chilled products and damp production areas.
Broadly applicable
From retail packaging and private label to food, snacks and nutraceuticals. The model that fits most often when there is no pronounced extreme in play.

Ink, labels & accessories
A printer is only the beginning.
The real work is in what goes through it every week afterwards. Aladin Code supplies the ink, the labels and the accessories that belong with this machine — so that you have one point of contact instead of three.
Ink for the L801
The L801 works with its own CMYK cartridges. These are model-specific: cartridges from the L901 or the L502 do not fit. We supply replacements and keep an eye on when you are due for a new set.
- Separate CMYK cartridges
- Market-leading low ink cost per label
- WaterShield ink available on the L801 Plus
- Spare cartridges ordered into stock
Labels for the L801
Which label you need depends on your product and not on your printer. One condition always applies: the material has to have an inkjet coating. What sits underneath, we decide together.
- All standard sizes and labels cut to measure
- Widths up to 216 mm, rolls up to 203 mm in diameter
- Inkjet-coated paper and synthetic materials
- Material matched to refrigeration, freezer or dry storage
Accessories
Unwinders, rewinders and maintenance parts that complete the production around this machine. We supply and maintain those too.
- L801 rewinder for continuous roll-to-roll production
- Unwinders and rewinders from Labelmate
- Spare cartridges and maintenance parts
In practice
What this machine looks like in a business.
Three situations from industries where we install this printer most often — each starting with the problem it began with.
Food industry
Hof ter Linden, a producer of artisanal jams and tapenades
The situation
Fifteen flavours, changing jar sizes and a new seasonal product on a regular basis. At the printing house 2,000 labels per flavour had to be ordered each time; whatever did not sell ended up in the cupboard.
Why this machine
Now Hof ter Linden prints per production round. The low ink cost makes short runs affordable, and a new label is a matter of hours instead of weeks.
Cosmetics
Aurelie Skincare, a brand of personal care products
The situation
The label helps sell the product: full colour areas, fine lettering and a crisp finish matter as much as the contents. At the same time the label had to stand up to a damp bathroom.
Why this machine
The L801 delivers the image quality the brand needs, and with WaterShield ink the label stays intact even after months in the bathroom.
Manufacturing & private label
Verhaegen Packaging, a producer packing for several brands
The situation
A different label for every customer, in runs of a few hundred to a few thousand. Outside printing meant holding stock per customer and slow turnaround on changes.
Why this machine
With the L801 and the rewinder, every job runs through roll-to-roll. Switching between customers means opening a different file — not placing a new order.
The examples above are fictional. They are based on situations we come across in practice, but the company names are invented.
Frequently asked questions
What customers ask us about this model.
Is your question not here? Feel free to email —info@aladincode.com
What volume is the Afinia Label L801 intended for?
Afinia states 5,000 to well over 70,000 labels a month. That works out at roughly 250 to 3,500 labels per working day. If you are structurally above that, the L901 is the more logical choice.
What is the difference from the L901?
The same technology and the same print width, but the L901 is more heavily sized, handles larger rolls and can be integrated inline into a production line. If your production does not run continuously, the L801 does the same job for less money.
Can the L801 print GHS labels?
No. The L801 works with dye ink, including in the WaterShield version, and does not meet the BS5609 standard. For GHS labelling of hazardous substances you end up with the NeuraLabel Callisto.
Is the rewinder included?
No, the L801 rewinder is a separate accessory. If you want long runs to continue unattended, you need it; for short runs the machine also works without one. We look together at what suits the way you work.
What is the delivery time?
That depends on whether the machine is in stock or has to be ordered. Allow about a week; we agree the exact term when you order.
How much maintenance does this machine need?
In principle we only step in when there is a problem. We do recommend a yearly service to replace anything showing wear as a precaution, so that you are not held up at a busy moment.
What happens if it breaks down, and is installation included?
We are usually on site within two working days, sooner when your production is at a standstill. We charge for installation separately because the cost depends on the distance; explanation and instruction on delivery are simply part of it.
